A long rural road moves through a softly coloured landscape, leading the eye towards distant trees and figures. The open composition gives the road a quiet sense of distance.
The muted colours add to the reflective quality of the painting. Sangabo takes a simple countryside scene and gives attention to the experience of travelling through it.
